A few things...
Next, Monday March 3rd is the Book Parade - Mr. K has sent home a few things on this but I wanted to remind you that on Monday we will be having a parade around the school and your child can dress up as their favorite book character - if the outfit isn't too crazy they can just wear it to school but if you think it might be a problem or of course is too big or uncomfortable - please just send the outfit to school and we will get it put on before the book parade starts. Also we would LOVE to have you come and line the hallways. The parade will start at 9:20 and after it is over you can come into our classroom and read with us! I am very excited for my costume this year and I can't wait to see what all of my friends choose to be! Check out last years costumes - Mrs. Schroeder was the old lady who swallowed a fly and I of course was the Lorax!
On Tuesday, March 4th is the Science Fair and it is soo much fun. I didn't have anyone from my room sign up to do a project this year (you still can if you were thinking about it but Mr. Mann needs to know right away:) ) but you are still welcome to come back to school and check it out - there are going to be lots of fun things going on that night. Also Henry and I are doing a family project together, we haven't exactly started it yet or come to a final decision on the topic because of course we both want different things but we will for sure be there on Tuesday night and we hope you will join us!
In your child's Wednesday folder I sent home a big green shamrock -Please have your child share how LUCKY they are!! You can draw pictures on the shamrock and label why they are lucky. You could put real pictures on the shamrock to tell show how lucky they are. If you don’t want to ruin real pictures you could just make copies of the pictures to glue on!! I also used glitter to decorate my shamrock!! It is up to you!! Please be as CREATIVE as you can!! Please bring the shamrocks back by Wednesday, March 5th!! Please see my example from last year- I am going to have to make a new one this year since Macy joined the Woita family!

Fast February
It is so crazy how time flies by... there are so many things to share with you!
Today I will be sending home a very important piece of paper - it tells about how you and your kindergartener can get onto the Wonders website. Wonders is our new literacy curriculum and it really is amazing - you and your child will now have access to all of the amazing big books we read, the famous crabby books that we all love, and even the guided reading books we read during small group. The website also has games, words, sentences, vocabulary words - really almost everything I have access to as a teacher you will be able to see. I hope that you are all able to take the time to look at it and utilize it at home - it is a GREAT resource - as always please let me know if you have any questions - I will be more than happy to help out!
Your child will also be bringing home a collection box - it is for our school "Pasta for Patients" fundraiser we do for the Leukemia and Lymohoma Foundation. There will be a brochure that explains it more in detail - I hope that as a class we will be able to contribute some money to this very worthy cause!
Also I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to conferences - I very much enjoyed the conversations we were able to have! I am so proud of all the progress my friends have made since the beginning of the year! I will be starting assessments next week for third quarter report cards! Again please know I am always here if you have any questions. Your child loves you so very much and is so thankful for you... here is a short video of our pictures!
Last week we celebrated friendship on Valentine's day and we had a wonderful day - I sure hope you heard all about it! Here is a short video of the last part of our day - I broke my camera but realized I had my phone so I ended up getting a few pictures :)
Almost a month ago we celebrated the 100th day of school - and that was a very exciting day as well - I loved the projects you made as families - please check out our video of our super special day! We really are so much smarter!!!!
